Cider Press relaunches under new management, with commitment to delivering deep and broad coverage of Somerset

I'll be here throughout this first season offering in-depth coverage of the club with features, player interviews, analysis, reminiscences, and a whole lot more.

SCCC has a passionate fan base which deserves coverage that matches that. With shrinking budgets in traditional journalism, such coverage is very limited in general and this forum aims to turn that around through dedicated season-long, and more, coverage.

Why should you pay for such coverage? Because you care about the fortunes of the club whether you are an avid follower of the men's county championship team or prefer to watch the T20s, or want more in-depth coverage of the women's team.

And why should you follow my musings here? Well that's only for you to judge in the long-run. What I hope I can offer as an experienced journalist with knowledge of the local area – I worked on the Somerset County Gazette for a year which included a few interviews with some big names at the club, I live right next to the ground, and I play very badly for Taunton Deane CC – is engaging content that you will hopefully find worth paying a few pounds a month for.

With regular contributions from club legends such as Vic Marks and current women's captain Sophie Luff, together we will provide the most in-depth coverage of SCCC that we don't think you will find anywhere else.

This is a purely subscriber-supported exercise. Welcome aboard and I hope to provide you with what you will want to read throughout this season and beyond. Most of you will know a lot about SCCC and I would welcome your constructive input.
