Luffy's Log: Resting up and then back to work

Beginning to reflect on a very busy season

The cliché about taking a well-earned rest and reflecting on the past season may well be just that but it is absolutely the case for me after a long summer.

To be honest, I'm still taking much of last season in. For me, personally, it was the best season I have ever had with the new role at the top of the order. On a collective level, I think the Somerset women have really pushed forward and then, to win The Hundred with Trent Rockets, capped it off really - that was amazing.

So, while I begin to reflect, I'm also putting my feet up and probably won't be back in until mid-November. The focus, then, will be on physical work; there probably won't be much equipment involved. We'll be working on fielding, too, as Erin (coach Osborne) is very big on that. Fielding was one of the areas we really improved on as a team this season but we can get better still. We probably did show some signs of fatigue in the last few games and so there is plenty of scope for improvement and for greater fitness.
