A few days ago, I wrote ahead of the final morning of Somerset's crucial game against Yorkshire that it would be a very tough ask to get the 200+ runs the team needed to win.
In reality, Somerset managed to score just 28 runs on that final morning for the loss of seven wickets, sliding to a comprehensive defeat by 185 runs.
It leaves the team's chances for that elusive county championship title somewhat in peril, to say the least. In reality, they need a minor miracle.
Clearly, the only thing they can really do is concentrate on beating Surrey in the final game of the season which starts in Taunton this coming Thursday.
