Dr. Emily Martin helping the players be their best versions

Feeling the fear and doing it anyway

Helping cricketers with their mindset and mental health isn't about waiting for a problem to raise itself; it's about being proactive to create an environment where each player knows their role and feels confident being in such a role.

Dr. Emily Martin is the lead performance psychologist at Somerset CCC and a consistent presence around the men's and women's dressing rooms at the club. While she doesn't travel with the teams, she is regularly with the players in the nets, in the dugout, and a key member of post-match debriefs where things that need to be put to bed are.
