Sometimes, however, things in life are not too logical. You'd think that his hard work and stellar performances this year might prompt some interest but then that assumes we live in a functioning world where merit always leads to reward. The current England set-up, where they can't even keep hold of their captain, or even have a clear curfew policy for that matter, can hardly be described as a bedrock of functionality after all.
