So a stirring fightback and an outside chance of victory was thwarted by the weather, the same culprit that put paid to any narrow chances of Somerset pinching victory in their last championship game vs Sussex back in May.
Irony aside that it was a storm which eventually curtailed any faint chance of victory against Warwickshire - given we are now entering four baking days of sun and it's hotter than hell - there was some good stuff to take away from the game, especially as it was all looking a bit hopeless on the third day when Somerset had only just edged ahead but also had just four wickets remaining.
