The rise and rise of Alfie Ogborne

The 22-year-old Somerset left arm quick was rehabbing a double stress fracture after the end of last season and the idea of playing regularly for his county, let alone the recent England Lions call-up, seemed somewhat distant.

But the Castle Cary native is enjoying all of those things and does not appear to be overly fazed by the step up.

At least the off season allowed for a major reset and continued close work with the physio department and bowling coach Steve Kirby has seen Alfie pushing his pace from the mid and high 70s up to 85mph as well as being able to swing the ball more.
