There's a title to defend starting this Friday (May 22) for Somerset Men as, after the first batch of county championship games, the T20s are kicking into gear.
Somerset, coming off the back of a frustrating rain-affected draw against Sussex in the final game of the initial championship matches on Monday, open their Vitality Blast account with an evening home game against Hampshire Hawks (6.30pm start). With the weather set fair, and a holiday weekend to boot, The Cooper Associates County Ground is sure to be rocking for the opening day of the T20 season.
“Hampshire will set a formidable challenge,” men's head coach, Jason Kerr, said after the Sussex game. “We are always fortunate to have this kind of atmosphere on a Friday night and hopefully we will be able to put on a good show.”
