Somerset now title contenders?

Somerset recorded two impressive home wins over the weekend in the Metro Bank One Day competition and now find themselves top of the Group A table after three games.

Some weekend after a disappointing first loss earlier in the week and an understandable setting of lower expectations from head coach Jason Kerr about what his team might be able to achieve in the competition absent many of its big stars.

As it turned out, an impressive mix of experience and youth saw the team through to two good victories, one over Gloucestershire and a veritable thrashing yesterday (July 26) of Warwickshire.
