Injuries must surely be the bane of a professional athlete's life. Form may come and go but injuries will place doubt in the mind for longer perhaps.

As Somerset Men regroup for a red ball push after the disappointment of white ball cricket and the craziness of The Hundred, there are a couple of injuries that will see young stars Alfie Ogborne and Thomas Rew likely out until next year.

Ogborne continues to have problems with his back which saw him miss the recent Metro Bank campaign in its entirety after a decent contribution in the Vitality Blast as well as the early season County Championship games. Rew junior has ankle ligament problems sustained during The Hundred. It may be particularly hard for Alfie who has had longstanding problems with his back and might have been beginning to think he was putting all that behind him.
