Quite the past few days for Somerset with two victories for the women and a highly encouraging county championship win for the men.
Ladies first, obvs.
Sophie Luff, literally just back from The Hundred with her victorious Trent Rockets team, first smashed a hundred in a huge opening stand of 223 with Bex Odgers (133*) to take Somerset comfortably to an eight wicket victory over Essex in the Metro One Day Cup. A few days later, she smashed 80 to help see the team home to finals day this coming weekend in the T20 Women's County Cup competition. I caught up with Sophie the other day and her column will be on the site in the coming days.
