Jason Kerr, head coach of Somerset Men, said post the semi-final defeat in the Vitality Blast that the 17-run loss to eventual trophy winners Northamptonshire had been a reflection of the team's campaign in the competition.
That the batting was very disappointing and even that some players had not taken enough responsibility in a performance he said wasn't acceptable.
Maybe, but maybe that was just frustration and exhaustion kicking in.
It's been a weary competition for Somerset after all. An excess of injuries to key batters and key changes to personnel from last season's successful campaign meant they were always up against it.
